One of the World's largest and most Scenic Urban Downtown Parks. The 1,000 acre parkland was set aside as a park in 1886. Mostly forested by Fir, Hemlock and Cedar trees. At the entrance from downtown sits a large Lagoon. There are literally hundreds of stops and spots of interest within the park, far too many to cover completely. Interests include everything from the Vancouver Aquarium to a Pitch and Putt Golf course. Artists selling paintings or painting portraits, hiking trails, three great beaches, a large swimming pool, restaurants and a seawall surrounding the park for cyclists, rollerbladers, walkers, joggers and wheelchairs too. And much more for the whole family to explore and enjoy rain or shine.
